| Consulting Firm Point B Solutions Group Opens New Practice in Los Angeles
05.16.07 Client-prompted launch, led by LA veteran, to fill project leadership niche in Southern California Experienced consultant Patrick McCauley will return to Los Angeles to launch the seventh practice for the firm, which was started in Seattle in 1995. ResMed, Red Digital Cinema and Providence Health and Services have already retained Point B's services in Los Angeles. "Los Angeles is a vibrant business center that is rich with consulting talent and companies that understand how project leadership can improve operations, integrate businesses and increase revenue and margins," said Los Angeles Practice Director Patrick McCauley. "We had a number of clients asking us to come to Southern California, and we decided the time was right to open a new practice. Our clients and other business contacts in Los Angeles tell us that no other consulting firms in this market focus on project leadership and execution in the way we do." Named one of the top three employers in the industry by Consulting Magazine, Point B Solutions Group has increased its revenues by 25 percent company wide over the past several years, thanks largely to its ability to generate repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals from clients, who range from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Since its establishment in Seattle, the firm has opened locally-based practices in Portland, Ore., San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix and Chicago. Point B is known for offering flexible work schedules and hiring seasoned consultants who live and work in the communities they serve. Point B associates specialize in project leadership, which means they have the ability to step into any segment or role of a complex project and help lead it to success. They are not tethered by alliances, reseller agreements or other relationships that might compromise their judgment and are thus able to provide true objectivity for their clients. "I'm looking forward to bringing the Point B experience to future clients and associates here," McCauley said. "Point B has an established track record of helping clients solve their most critical business problems. This, in concert with our deep experience in the entertainment, healthcare, financial services and manufacturing industries, makes us a good fit for the Los Angeles business community. Because our associates live and work locally, we also plan to draw on the talent available here. Point B provides seasoned associates with the opportunity to make a difference in their local business communities, while allowing them to maintain a balance between their professional and personal lives." McCauley, who holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Notre Dame, is returning to Los Angeles after serving Point B in Denver for three years. He has more than 17 years of experience in consulting and product development. He has led projects in the entertainment, healthcare, communications and financial services sectors. Before joining Point B, McCauley was responsible for product management of communications services at the University of California at Los Angeles. He also filled various leadership roles at Intertainer Inc. and served as a senior manager with Accenture. About Point B
